The Govan Sarcophagus, Govan Old Parish Church
Found in the graveyard in 1855 it was brought in to the Church in 1905.  It is carved from a sandstone block and is thought to date from around the 9th century.  It may have contained the remains of the founder of themedieval Church of St Constantine which was built on the site where Govan [url=http://www.thegovanstones.org.uk/] Old Parish Church [/url] stands today.
