The Bass Rock from Tantallon Castle
The [url=http://www.north-berwick.co.uk/bassRock.asp/] Bass rock [/url] is a volcanic rock in the outer Firth of Forth.  It sits just over a mile from the mainland and rises some 100m above the sea.   The island has a white appearance since it plays host to over 100,000 Gannets, and their droppings.  This is the largest single rock Gannetry in the world has has around 10% of the world population of North Atlantic Gannets.
