Eglinton Castle, Kilwinning
Eglinton Castle was built in 1797 by the 12th Earl of Eglinton.  It fell into dis-repair around 1925 and was apparently used for navel gunnery practice during WWII.  In 1973 it was deemed unsafe and was demolished to what stands today, it is now at the centre of Eglinton Country Park.
