Castlemilk is a post war housing development started in the 1950's to give people from the inner city new affordable housing. The 3 Dougrie road tower blocks were completed in 1966. Since then Castlemilk has suffered many social problems and is once again under going a regeneration which is seeing many of the 1950's houses being replaced or modernised.
