The water tower for the former Leverndale Hospital
Opened in 1895 as Hawkhead hospital by the Govan District Lunacy Board. By 1908 there were 520 beds, in 1964 it was renamed to Leverndale Hospital and during the 1980's a new 120 bed unit was built which made the old building redundant. Much of it has been demolished but some buildings have been retained in a new housing development along with the 120ft tower.
