The Auld Kirk & Graveyard, Alloway
The Auld kirk is thought to date from 1516 although there may have been a building here much earlier. It was abandoned in 1690 and has been a ruin ever since. Its claim to fame is that the graveyard was the setting for Robert Burn's Tam O'shanter written in 1791. Alloway Parish Church can be seen across the road.
