USS Intrepid Air & Space Museum, New York City, 1989
The Intrepid was an Essex class Aircraft Carrier of the US Navy. She was first commissioned in 1943 and served until the 1970's. The ship you see today is very much modified from when she was originally launched. Today she is permanently moored here on the Hudson river at New York City.
