The Battle of Loudoun Hill Memorial
The Battle of Loudoun Hill was fought on 10th May 1307 between the Scots, led by Robert the Bruce and the English led by the Earl of Pembroke.  It ended with a victory for the Scots, the first victory for Bruce.  The memorial reads "Through devotion and by willing hands this stone was hauled here to commemorate the first victory of King Robert the Bruce who won for us freedom from serfdom".
