Looking east from the Neilston Pad
A frosty winter morning on top of the Neilston Pad. The long shadows highlight how the features in the landscape all face the same way, the direction in which the ice flowed during the last ice age some 20,000 years ago. In the top left hand corner you can make out what I suspect are the Pentland Hills over near Edinburgh. Map location.
