Stonehaven War Memorial, 2017
Built in 1922 to the design of local architect John Ellis. By public vote it was chosen to site it here on Black hill above Stonehaven. Ellis deliberately designed the memorial to mimic a ruined Greek temple to signify the many shortened lives caused by WWI. The names of those lost during WWII were inscribed on tablets inside the memorial. Map location.
