Situated at the head of Loch Shiel this monument was built in 1815 to mark the spot in 1745 where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his army and headed as far south as Derby in England in an attempt to regain the throne before being defeated at Culloden. The Railway viaduct in the background has more recently been made famous in a Harry Potter film.
