Dunfermline Abbey today is a Church of two halves. The part you see here is what remains of the original 12th century Benedictine Abbey. The Abbey was sacked during the reformation in 1560 but in 1570 the Nave was repaired and continued to be used as a Church until 1821 when a new parish church was added where the Chancel and Transcepts of the Abbey would have stood.
