Millport Marine Biological Station, Great Cumbrae
A view of the Marine station from across the water at Hunterston. It was established in 1897 and was run by the University of London until 2013 when funding was withdrawn. A rescue plan was drawn up and in early 2014 the centre will open as the Millport Field Centre. Hopefully the museum and aquarium will also still be open to the public.
