Former AAOR Bunker, Torrance House, Calderglen
Built in the 1950's near Torrance House as a control centre for Cold War anti-aircraft defences. In the 1960's it became a regional control centre, a regional seat of government with fire, police, military and health communications for use in the event of a Nuclear attack. It consists of two floors with its own generator and air filtering unit. Unusually the original aerial is still standing behind, even though the building has been used by the parks department at Calderglen since about 1993.
