Installed in the car park of the Wallace Monument visitor centre in 1997, it was described as, "among the most loathed pieces of public art in Scotland" by a newspaper, and as "a lump of crap" by a more astute local. The sculptor, Tom Church, was inspired by the film Braveheart. Due to expansion of the visitor centre it has since been removed and now resides at the sculptors home since nobody, even in North America, seemed prepared to pay his asking price of £350,000.
