Red Road flats, Springburn
Built between 1964 and 1969 to solve Glasgows housing problems, they consisted of 5 'point' towers and 2 'slab' blocks. The points were 30 floors and the slabs 25, in total they were designed to house 4,700 people. At the time of construction they were the highest blocks in Europe, they were also unusual in that they were the only steel framed residential towers in Glasgow. The last one was demolished in 2015.
