Crossragual Abbey is one of the lesser known Abbey's of Scotland. It lies immediately beside the busy A77 road just outside Maybole. It has an interesting mixture of total ruins and relatively well preserved buildings. The gatehouse was built around 1530, the viewpoint at the top can be reached by stairs and gives a spectacular view over the whole site.
