A church of some kind has stood here since around the 12th century. Its name has changed several times, the original name being Sanchar-in-Kyle. In 1595 the church was restored by Lord Cathcart, the owner of Auchincruive Estate, other additions to the building were made in the 18th and 19th century. The Maausoleum on the right was built in 1822 by the Campbells of Craigie. Map location.
