The world's first and only rotating boat lift. Opened in 2002 as part of a large project to restore the link between the Union Canal and the Forth & Clyde Canal. Previously 11 locks were used to raise boats the 35m from one Canal to the other. The Wheel is capable of lifting 600 tonnes of water 35m in 4 minutes. http://www.thefalkirkwheel.co.uk
