The Robertson Marine Steam Engine
Anyone familiar with the monument on the high street in Neilston might recognise this engine. It is a replica of the 3hp modified beam engine of John Robertson's design that was used to power the Clyde first steam ship, the Comet in 1811. This example can be seen at the Scottish Maritime Museum at Braehead, I believe the originall is in the science museum in London.
