PS Comet, Port Glasgow
This is a replica of the PS Comet, the first steamship to sail on the Clyde in 1811.  Made of wood, it was built in Port Glasgow and ran a passenger service between Glasgow, Greenock and Helensburgh.  The marine steam engine used in it was designed by John Robertson, born in Neilston in 1782.  The Replica was built in 1962 at Lithgows Ship Yard.
