Garrison House, Millport
Built in 1745 as the house of the Captain and officers of the Millport based customs cutter, Royal George. Since then the building has been much expanded It was used as the home of Lord Glasgow, a Hotel, Library, Museum, and I remember it as a Cafe in the 1960's. It was almost destroyed by fire in 2001 at which point it was at risk of demolition but after much effort by locals was saved and re-opened in 2008.
