Fairlie from the sea
Fairlie was famous for Fife's Boatyard in which from about the 1880's until the 2nd world war William Fife built wooden racing yachts.  William fife died in 1944 after which the yard became a repair yard but finally closed in 1985.  The yard was located where some of the new flats are in this photo.
