Dunglass House and Castle
Built over a period between about 1400 and 1540, the oldest part is towards the river.  The monument is to commemorate Henry Bell, builder of The Comet steam ship.  Today this catagory B listed building stands isolated in the grounds of the former Esso Oil Terminal awaiting its fate.
