Thurso Castle, Thurso
in the 12th century it was an eathwork fortress and later in the 17th century a stone tower was contructed.  In the 19ths century the tower was expanded into a baronial mansion by Sir Tollemache Sinclair but was destroyed by fire and is now a ruin.
