Broughty Castle, Broughty Ferry
Built in 1496 it has stunning views out across the mouth of the river Tay. It fell into dis-repair but was restored at the time of the Crimean War when naval guns were placed below the castle, the mountings of which are still there. Today the castle is operated by Dundee Council as a Museum of local history.
