Tarbert, Argyll & Bute
There are several Tarberts around Scotland, the name derives from the Gaelic "Tairbeart", meaning 'draw boat' which equates to an 'isthmus' today. That is a narrow strip of land where two lochs meet, in this case, East Loch Tarbert and West Loch Tarbert. This view over Tarbert is dominated by Tarbert Church, dating from 1775.
