Mull of Galloway Lighthouse
Designed by Robert Stevenson and built in 1828 it had a paraffin lamp until as recently as 1971 when it was converted to electricity. It was fully automated in 1988. If you add the height of the cliffs the light is at a height of 99m. The lighthouse is open to the public in the summer months. On a good day you can get views to N. Ireland, Isle of Man and the North of England.
