M.V. Balmoral, river Clyde, 2008
Balmoral was built in 1949 in Southhampton for the red funnel line fleet. After retiring in 1980 she was used in an attempt as a floating restuarant in Dundee but was rescued from this fate by the friends and supporters of the Waverley who restored her to full operation in 1986. Today she is a familiar site on the Clyde and other rivers around the UK, on this day in 2008 she was sailing to meet the QE2 on her last visit to the Clyde.
