Morton Castle, Dumfries & Galloway
Like the Castle itself, the history of Morton can be hard to find. The sight is though to have been in use from the 12th century when Dunegal, Lord of Nothsdale built a stronghold here. The ruins that stand probably dates from the 15th century. This view is taken from the other side of Morton Loch, a man made loch that wouldn't have been there when the castle was built.
