British Aerospace Factory, Prestwick Airport, 1989
This building started life as the Palace of Engineering at the Empire exhibition of 1938 in Glasgow. Apart from the part on the left it is more or less as it would have looked. At this time it was used to manufacture the Jet Stream commercial aircraft, in 1999 British Aerospace became BAE, today the factory is owned by Spirit Aerosystems and employs around 1000 people.
