The French amphibious assault ship Tonnerre berthed at the Huntereston Ore terminal in October 2016. She displaced some 16,000 tons and can carry up to 70 vehicles and as many as 35 helicopters. She would be visiting the Clyde at this time for the annual Joint Warrior exercise held off the west of Scotland.
