The Tonnerre (L9014) is an amphibious assault helicopter carrier of the French Navy.  She was launched in 2005 and displaces some 21,000 tons. She can carry up to 70 vehicles and 16 heavy or 35 light helicopters.  She was seen here anchored on the Clyde as part of the October 2008 joint warrior exercise.
