HMS Ocelot, Chatham Historic Dock, 2003
Pictured here at the Chatham historic Dockyard Museum in the south of England.  She was launched at Chatham in 1962 and entered service in the 3rd Flotilla based at Faslane on the Clyde where she served until 1991.  Ocelot was a diesel electric boat capable of up 17 knots submerged.  The RN no longer operates diesel submarines, the Upholder class which was to replace the old Oberons were all sold off to the Canadian navy leaving the RN with an all nuclear submarine fleet.
