Used to load Royal Navy Submarines from Faslane with both conventional and nuclear weapons. The submarine enters through an opening on the opposite end. Since the days of the Royal Navy Polaris submarines coulport has been used for this purpose. The resultant high security area complete engulfed what was the small community of Coulport and the last few remaining buildings have since been demolished.
