3 Arlreigh Burke and one Ticonderoga class warships of the US Navy visting the Clyde at Greenock in 2004. During World War II this would have been a common sight as the Clyde was a reasonably safe anchorage for warships and convoys. The area was protected by anti-aircraft guns at Inverkip and also a submarine net at the Cloch Lighthouse.
