Wanlockhead, Dumfries & Galloway
Its the end of April, in most places the daffodils are finished but here in Wanlockhead they are still flourishing because at over 1,500ft they were late starters. Wanlockhead is the highest village in Scotland and owes its existence to the former lead mines all around. This photo is taken from just above what was the Miners Library but today is the Wanlockhead Mining Museum.
