One of the 14 Type 22 Frigates built for the Royal Navy. Originally 22 were to have been built but after the Falklands war the remainder were cancelled. Beaver was built at Yarrows shipyard on the upper clyde and comissioned in 1984. Her life in the Royal Navy was very short being sold for scrap in 2001. Although the Seawolf missile system proved highly succesful during the Falklands War other shortcoming were highlighted such that the final 4 ships built were considerably different.
