The Barrhead South & Levern Parish Church, Barrhead
The Southern Church as it was known came about after the minister and congregation of the Bourock Church walked out in 1843.  They raised funds to build a new church and it opened as the Free Protestant Church in 1846. In 1900 it became the United Free Church and in 1929 it became the Barrhead South Parish Church in the Church of Scotland.  In 1985 it joined with the Lvern Church to become the Barrhead South and Levern Parish.
