The Hall of Caldwell
The left half is the oldest part of the house, built by the Mure of Caldwell's daughter and her husband on their return after their exile due to the Covenanters rising of 1666. Much of the stone used to construct it was taken from the Caldwell Castle, one tower of which was restored at the time and still stands. In 1659 a member of the Scottish Parliament was returned from here. The building has been catagory B listed since 1971.
