Castle entrance to Eilean Donan
The reconstructed entrance to Eilean Donan Castle.  The castle was restored over a period of 20 years by Col. John Macrea-Gilstrap in 1912, it was until then a ruin.  The restoration cost ?250,000, the castle is now owned by a charitable trust.  Eilean Donan is considered to be the spiritual home of the Clan McRae.   www.eileandonancastle.com
