Lochalain arriving at Cumbrae Slip

Before the Roll on Roll off ferry service the car ferry had to go round to the main pier at Millport and the process used elevetors, turntables and a great deal of time, prior to that they were lifted off by crane. Today its so much easier and only takes about 15 minutues. Once there a tank of petrol might last you weeks since its only 11 miles round the island by road.
