The John Neilson Institute, Oakshaw, Paisley
Opened in 1852 this former School was financed by a legacy left by local merchant John Neilson. In 1968 a new John Neilson school was built and this building was eventually converted into flats. Ironically, the 'new' school (the one I went to!) was demolished in 2001.

This is my old school, but I only spent my first term in high school here before moving to the new building. It was amazing, with partitions to divide up classrooms and the kind of atmosphere only found in old buildings. Very Happy
