Gateway at Chatelherault Hunting Lodge
The hunting lodge was built by the 5th earl of Hamilton in 1734. If you look just to the upper right of centre in the circle you can just make out the Hamilton Mausoleum down near Hamilton, the resting place of the Hamiltons. The name Chatelherault derives from a French title bestowed in 1548 on James Hamilton, the 2nd Earl of Arran (1516-75).
