The road to Applecross, if you dare
These signs are what confronts the driver who chooses to take the high road to Applecross. At 2053ft its not quite the highest public road in the British Isles (that honour goes to the A93 at Glenshee) but with its single track and passing places it certainly makes for an interesting drive. It's worth it though because at the summit you get great views over to the Isle of Skye, provided there isn't a heat haze like there was on this day :-(
