During a site survey in the before planting of the East Renfrewshire Community woodland the ruins of a farmhouse were found near Snypes Dam. Volunteers sponsored by the Renfrewshire Local History forum undertook an excavation over several seasons. The farmhouse is thought to have been occupied from 1732 up until the 19th century.
