Tarbert Castle, Argyll & Bute
The ruins of Tarbert Castle stand above Tarbert harbour on East Loch Tarbert. What stands today dates from around 1494 but there has been a castle on the site long before then. Robert the Bruce fortified the building in 1320's to protect against the Lord of the Isles. Map location.
