The Martyrs' Tomb, Barrhill, South Ayrshire
In 1665, by the side of Cross Water in Barrhill, John Murchie and Daniel Mieklewrick were found by soldiers to be in possession of Bibles and were shot to death as Covenanters. This grave is where they were buried, a short walk up the burn from the main street in Barrhill. Unfortunately connifers trees have since been planted in the area making it difficult to see very well. Map location.
