The volunteers who organise the Neilston show were awarded The Queens Award for Voluntary Service. The Gentleman in the impressive uniform on the right was there to present the award. He is Colonel Peter McCarthy, Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire, who'd have believed there is such a person in the 21st centiury.
