Lockheed L1011-500 Tristar, Fairford, 1993
The Tristars entered servi8ce with the RAF in 1984 due to a requirement for air refuelling and troop transport after the Falklands war.  Some were used for refueling some for transport and some a combination of both.  There were 9 in the fleet, all were previosuly used as passenger airliners.  They have all been retired from the RAF today.
